Abstract: [+]
Globally there is growing awareness in organizations relating to ecological responsibilities and sustainability. Green Information Technology (Green IT) has become a catchphrase and is a topic of discussion all over the world. This research paper tries to explore how greening technologies can help in branding of organizations and develop sustainability. The core objective of this paper is to present a conceptual model highlighting the roles of Green IT and branding for sustainable development of IT companies in India. To do the same exploratory-cum-descriptive study has been used. Through extensive and exhaustive literature review, variables of Green IT, Branding and Sustainability have been assessed and a conceptual model has been developed. Survey method is used to collect data with the help of questionnaires from 600 IT companies’ employees. Thereafter, the data collected has been analysed and conceptual model has been validated using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The contribution of the paper lies in developing an innovative model using three constructs viz: Green IT, branding and sustainability and validating it empirically. Though model has been developed and empirically tested in India, it can be further tested on IT companies in other developing or developed countries. The research results are of great relevance to environmentalist, industry, practitioners and policy makers.

Abstract: [+]
Generation of Electricity from solar energy is very popular as there is an exponential growth in energy consumption. This paper focuses on the operational performances of two kinds of configurations of solar modules. Conventionally series-parallel connected solar panels use the centralized single inverter named as DC Module where single module failure in whole unit cannot be solved easily. In order to have more efficient PV module, new AC module called as three phase micro inverter based PV module is proposed. Each single module will have embedded inverter along with the boost converter. Thereby failure in single module will not affect the whole system performance and is more efficient than conventional topology by 10% to 20% in whole. Detailed Simulink modelling and development of hardware implementation of prototype model of standalone three phase micro inverter is discussed. Also, Centralized inverter based PV system is compared with micro inverter based PV module.

Abstract: [+]
This work concentrates on performance & diesel engine emission characteristics by the blending of n-Butanol by its volume and n-Pentanol by its volume as additives with base pure diesel fuel. The focus on an alternate fuel which produces less emission, less consumption of fuel and high thermal efficiency of IC engines is increased during the last decade.Emissions i.e. CO2, NOx, smoke and particulate emissions are the most predominant emissions from the diesel engine. Particularly, the fuel which contains high O2 is having more potential to reduce emissions. The oxygenated additives properties are compared with the properties to be a fuel. Fuel required properties are reviewed and compared diesel fuel. Then experiments are carried out in DI engine by blending the n-Butanol and n-Pentanol of 2.5% & 2.5%, 5% & 5%, 7.5% & 7.5% and 10% & 10% respectively with diesel. It results that overall, blending of oxygenated additives with diesel fuel produces good performance characteristics. The result shows that, there are decreases in specific fuel consumption, HC, CO and CO2 Emissions. However, result shows that there are increases in thermal efficiency and NO Emissions at higher load.

Abstract: [+]
A Multihop relay network consist of, a source node (O), multiple intermediate nodes (Ii) and a destination node (F). To obtain better performance existing selection combining technique is modified. To select an appropriate diversity in the network, a novel decision rule is adopted in the intermediate nodes and destination node. With the use of partial channel state information (CSI) of the channel, we modified the selection combining scheme (SC). An end to end symbol error probability (SEP) is derived with MQAM over a flat Rayleigh fading model with decode and forward protocol. SEP is delivered in two phases, first phase – source to destination node (OF) link and second phase – source to intermediate node and to the destination node (OI_i F) link are assumed to be an independent and identically distributed(i.i.d). By analyzed results shows that proposed SC scheme performance better than the conventional SC scheme. Using Monte-Carlo simulations the computation results are verified.

Abstract: [+]
This paper throws light on the transients that occur in a direct current series motor fed through a direct current chopper which has been subjected to a change in duty cycles. In this work it has been considered a direct current series motor running at a constant speed powering a stable and constant load when a sudden change in the input t006F the motor from the energy conservation direct current chopper occurs. This sudden changes is simulated as the changes that an operator would require to do for e.g. in a lift or a traction motor application scenario. Various parameters such as current, voltage and torque are simulated and plotted during the transient in an effort to understand their variation and changes during the transient period of change. Different loads are considered and the authors observe the difference in the variation of the parameters. The plots are then analyzed so as to develop an understanding and methodology of designing motors and control systems that provide an adequate response to the changes as required and as quickly as possible.

Abstract: [+]
In any developing economy like India, there is always a constant need to upgrade infrastructural requirements. But due to the impact of environmental quality coupled with the ever increasing material scarcity, there is a need to develop new materials and devise new approaches to counter these issues. This study concentrates on the behaviour of concrete blended with waste and eco-friendly materials like fly ash, fibres. Material strength and performance variations were assessed covering eco and energy aspects. Cubes, prisms and beams were cast and tested to assess the performance aspects. It was found that concrete with fly ash and fibre scan be a good material resource which is eco and energy friendly materials for infra-structural applications. Some typical case studies are given to highlight these aspects.

Abstract: [+]
The problem of disease prediction using biomedical diabetic data set has been well studied. Number of approaches has been discussed in literature to perform prediction but suffer to achieve the prediction accuracy. To solve the problem, a multi attribute relational cluster modelling is discussed in this paper. Also, the author present an influence measure based disease prediction algorithm. First, the method reads the biomedical data set and performs noise removal. Second, the features are extracted and for each data point a multi attribute relational similarity measure (MARSM) is estimated towards different clusters available. Based on the MARSM Measure estimated, a single class has been identified for the data point given. The clustering algorithm is a hierarchical one and it clusters the data points in a hierarchical manner. For the prediction of the disease, the method computes the influence measure on each attribute identified from the data point. Based on the multi attribute influence measure (MAIM) the method identifies the possible disease would probe. The method produces higher efficiency in clustering as well as disease prediction. The method reduces the false classification ratio and reduces the time complexity.
